Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest

Matthew 11:28

Prayer on behalf of those on your prayer list…

  • Lord we thank you for offering us true rest and peace, may we accept your invitation today
  • Help us to develop the habit of trusting you with
    • our burdens and cares,
    • our fears,
    • complexities,
    • anxieties
    • and disappointments, even when we think we can handle the situation
  • We know that you have plans to prosper us and not to harm us.
  • Thank you for your precious promise to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)
  • Today Lord, help us to truly believe that you will be with us always especially when we go through the inevitable trials and tribulations in this life
  • Let your Holy Spirit give us the courage that comes from knowing you have conquered this world. (John 16:33)

Reflection…

There are so many things I worry and obsess about. As I look back now, I realise that God takes care of everything even when things don’t go the way I expect. From lost receipts to contentious meetings, aches and pains, disappointments and uncertainty…we have three Persons in one (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) that we can go to and find rest for our souls.

“I will go before you and will level the mountains, I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.”

Isaiah 45:3
