As we nation we swell with pride when our scholars, athletes and beauty queens triumph on the international stage; and as people we may even be considered smug with our personal wealth and natural resources.
The truth is the scholars are quickly forgotten; athlethes get ‘old’ and retire by age 40; all beauty fades and, wealth can disappear in an instant.
What then should be the glory of Trinidad and Tobago?
 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
This should be the ‘Glory of my Country’ that we should strive for:
That we understand and know the Lord;
That we exercise loving kindness in our land;
That we exercise judgement (fair dealing) in our country;
That we exercise righteousness (do that which is right) in our nation;
That we are a delight to God.
