O how I love Thy holy law!
’Tis daily my delight;
And thence my meditations draw
Divine advice by night.
O how I love Thy holy law!
’Tis daily my delight;
And thence my meditations draw
Divine advice by night.
Oh, how I love Your law!
It is my meditation all the day.
How shall the young secure their hearts,
And guard their lives from sin?
I choose the path of heavenly truth,
And glory in my choice;
Not all the riches of the ea
You are my portion, O Lord
When midnight darkness veils the skies,
I call your works to mind;
my thoughts in hushed devotion rise,
and sweet acceptance find
Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law;
Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Great is their peace who love Thy law;
How firm their souls abide!
Remove from me reproach and contempt,
For I have kept Your testimonies
This is the day the Lord has made;
He calls the hours His own;
let heav’n rejoice, let earth be glad,
and praise surround the throne
The foolish builders, scribe and priest,
Reject it with disdain;
Yet on this Rock the Church shall rest, And envy rage in vain
