Sing to the Lord Jehovah’s name,
And in His strength rejoice

Today, if you will hear His voice: “Do not harden your hearts,
But God will ne’er cast off his saints,
Nor his own promise break
He pardons his inheritance
For their Redeemer’s sake.
Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord,
And teach out of Your law
Forever shall thy throne endure,
Thy promise stands forever sure;
And everlasting holiness
Becomes the dwellings of thy grace.
Your testimonies are very sure;
Holiness adorns Your house,
O Lord, forever.
My heart shall triumph in the Lord,
and bless his works, and bless his word;
thy works of grace, how bright they shine,
how deep thy counsels, how divine!
O Lord, how great are Your works!
Your thoughts are very deep.
For those to whom my name is known,
I’ll honour them in heaven;
there my salvation shall be shown,
and endless life be given.
If vapors with malignant breath
Rise thick, and scatter midnight death:
Still they are safe; the poison’d air
Again grows pure, if God be there
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you,
Teach us, O Lord, how frail is man;
And kindly lengthen out our span,
Till a wise care of piety
Fit us to die, and dwell with thee.
