‘Tis pleasant as the morning dews
That fall on Zion’s hill,

For there the Lord commanded the blessing—
Life forevermore
Out of the deeps of long distress,
The borders of despair,
I sent my cries to seek thy grace,
My groans to move thine ear.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law;
Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Sing to the Lord Jehovah’s name,
And in His strength rejoice
O Lord, you are so good and kind, so ready to forgive, so full of mercy for all who ask your aid.
Blest are the men whose hearts are set
To find the way to Zion’s gate;
God is their strength, and through the road
They lean upon their helper God.
I’ll think again of all Thy ways,
And talk Thy wonders o’er;
Thy wonders of recovering grace,
When flesh could hope no more
What pow’r can stand before thy sight,
When once thy wrath appears?
When heav’n shines round with dreadful light,
The earth adores and fears
Whom have I in heaven but You?
And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.
Jesus shall reign where’er the sun
does its successive journeys run,
his kingdom stretch from shore to shore,
till moons shall wax and wane no more.
Thy righteousness is deep and high,
Unsearchable thy deeds;
Thy glory spreads beyond the sky,
And all my praise exceeds
