We have heard with our ears, O God,
Our fathers have told us,
The deeds You did in their days,
In days of old
We have heard with our ears, O God,
Our fathers have told us,
The deeds You did in their days,
In days of old
Vindicate me, O God,
And plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!
For You are the God of my strength;
Why do You cast me off?
Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
Thy light and truth shall guide me still,
Thy Word shall my best thoughts employ,
And lead me to Thine heav’nly hill,
My God, my most exceeding joy
As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
Hope in the Lord, whose mighty hand
Can all thy woes remove,
For I shall yet before him stand,
And sing restoring love
The people of God are not free from poverty, sickness, or outward affliction, but the Lord will consider their case, and send due supplies.
The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive,
And he will be blessed on the earth
The best saints see themselves undone, unless continually preserved by the grace of God
The wondering world shall learn Thy grace, Thy wisdom, and Thy righteousness
